Dave plays with more bands than you can shake a very big stick at. Find out more ...

As well as guesting with a number of big bands over the years, Dave has also played with great musicians such as Ed Jones, Joe Stilgoe, Paul Stevenson, Mike Parlett, Dave Marchant, Aaron Liddard and the late Dick Heckstall-Smith.

He is currently actively involved with the following acts ...

Policy Briefs

The jazz-fusion juggernaut was formed in 2003 when members met, all studying music at university. The band includes Stevie B on the bass, Jon Gingell on guitar, Sammy Smith on drums, Hal Hutchison on keys, Uncle Tony Reeves on computer / sampler, Joe Browne on sax and Dave on trumpet. Dave is one of the band's main composers, and his tunes took the Briefs from gigs on the south coast to France, taking in residencies at Le Reveillon in Normandy and a warmly received support slot at the international jazz festival, Jazz a Vienne, in 2005.

The band are currently looking to record some new material and follow-up their eagerly anticipated slot at Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2007 with more gigs around the UK.

Groovestone

One of the UK's most energetic and talented function bands playing classics from the 60s to the present day around the country.

The line-up is identical to that of Policy Briefs but replacing the electronica of Uncle Tony Reeves with the awesome vocal talent that is Kate Brown.

The band are being rapidly booked up for 2007 and 2008 and are happy to hear from you if you have an event that needs entertainment.

LJC

The LJC (London Jazz Collective) was founded by Dave and friend Ewan Parker, and has gone from strength to strength after forming a few years ago - now gigging throughout London.

The big band meet regularly to practice challenging material written by its members. Highlights in the band's short career so far have included a sell-out gig at the Spice of Life in Soho and playing on the south bank as part of London's More Music Festival.

The original material is designed to push the boundaries of what 'big band' stands for.

Breakbeat Orchestra

Dave joined the The London Breakbeat Orchestra in 2006 - a 40-strong band comprising full wind, brass and string sections, plus saxes, decks, piano, bass, laptop and vocals by Rosie Strobel.

The band will be collaborating with big names like Nicky Blackmarket and Afrika Bambaataa in the near future.

Moebo

Dave and school friend Jon Osborne are Moebo, a duo with an interest in different forms of dance music, gigging around London using decks, effects and trumpet.

The style is predominantly funky house with a twist of two-step, but the duo like to interact with each other in an attempt to avoid the sound of simply a trumpeter blowing lines over beats.
